Blowing Rock Investment Properties
Founded May 2004
Blowing Rock Investment Properties opened in May of 2004 with a vision of being the High Country’s premier land acquisition and development company primarily dealing with tract of land 100acres or more. Through Blowing Rock Investment Properties many investors purchased large tracts of land and then developed them into some of the areas finest high end communities, which the firm turned around and sold and even resold. The original philosophy was based upon creating a company culture where clients not only received services during the sale, but after the sale as well, in order to achieve their development goals.
While our firm still actively offers development services, we have evolved into a full service real estate firm catering not only to investors, but to the second and primary homeowners. With our investment background, we’re able to give clients sound investment advice. We were among the first real estate companies in the area to understand and effectively implement the power of the internet. We have nine experienced brokers who all come to use with different areas of expertise in our market, from land planning to luxury home buying and selling. Any of our experienced Brokers will be delighted to assist you with all your real estate needs. We have an agent on duty seven days a week and are open 363 days a year, whether you are interested in buying or selling. We offer homes, condominiums, lots, acreage, commercial and investment opportunities. We make every effort to lead the business by vigilantly following the response and respected suggestions from our clients. Your feedback is not only welcomed, it is encouraged. We vow to do everything in our control to make certain you’re pleased and we’ve surpassed your expectations.

Scott MacIntosh
President
Scott was born in Enfield, Connecticut and graduated from Northeastern University in Boston Massachusetts with a degree in Physical Therapy. Scott's diverse interest led him after graduation to Miami to the Fontainebleau Hilton Spa as Director of Sports Medicine. Scott started designing spa/fitness centers for the hospitality industry, with projects that included the Edna Rock Spa in Miami, Sandal Royal Bahamia Spa in Nassau, Bahamas, and Royal St. Lucia Spa in St. Lucia, West Indies. While in Miami, Scott got his start in real estate by buying, renovating and selling real estate in the Miami market.
After several years as Vice President of Operations for Concession Services with Carnival Cruise Lines, overseeing 14 ships and four resorts throughout the Caribbean and Alaska, Scott decided while vacationing in the Blue Ridge Mountains to purchased a 10 acre tract in the High Country, as a retreat and vacation home site. This investment was intended for his retirement, but after returning from the High Country Scott made arrangements to relocate to the High Country and pursue a career in real estate full time.
Scott acquired Blowing Rock Investment Properties after working for the firm for a year. He is now the President and Broker-in-Charge. With Scott's first hand knowledge of looking for that peaceful retreat and enthusiasm we're sure he can relate to your real estate needs. He got his start working with developers on large tracts of land intended for planned communities. Since his start, he has expanded the firms agent base to include agents who have expertise in all areas of the real estate industry. This includes brokers who are erudite in buyer’s agency, relocation, staging, land development and planning and referral program implementation.
Blowing Rock Investment Properties has become one of the top firms in the area within the three years Scott has owned and operated the firm. His staff and brokers have grown, and continue to grow and prosper.

Meris Gantt
Broker
“Home is where the heart is.” And that is what led Meris to move to the mountains three years ago. For a girl who spent her first three years on Bald Head Island where her parents were early caretakers of the island, Meris has planted her roots in the opposite corner of North Carolina. She fell in love with these mountains at an early age, camping, hiking, rafting with her family and spending time every summer with her grandmother at small farm in nearby Alleghany County.
Meris has found the community of Blowing Rock to be warm and welcoming. Diverse in its offerings and in the spirit of the locals, Blowing Rock is a lot like her hometown of Southport. She attended Elon University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Meris lives in Blowing Rock with her husband Paul and they are anxiously expecting their first child this September.
Meris is excited about meeting new people and helping her clients find the perfect piece of property that is also a sound investment. With the real estate market becoming increasingly complex, it is important to be represented by someone who has extensive knowledge of the current industry in order to protect your best interests. She is particularly suited and interested in working with buyers so she can search the entire market for properties that meets their criteria, find the best deals, and help secure the best contract possible. There is nothing Meris enjoys more than exploring this beautiful corner of the world with like-minded folks who have fallen in love with this area of diverse offerings and abundant beauty. Her goal is to provide honest service, be a good listener, and work hard to help all of her clients meet their real estate goals.

Cell: 828-260-0873
Margo was born in northern Wisconsin, but she has journeyed far from her Midwestern roots to live an exciting and fulfilling life in the service of others. She has taught stress management to the executives of major U.S. corporations, including General Motors and McDonnell Douglas; she has taught meditation to individuals and groups as far away as Egypt, India, and the Philippines, and yoga to those seeking health and relaxation as close as our very own Boone. Margo was the top sales person for Books Are Fun for many years, as well as a top producer for Taylor Group, a recruiting firm originally out of Greensboro. Long before alternative health care became in vogue, Margo started and managed an alternative health center in Palm Beach FL. In 1996, Margo came to Blowing Rock to visit a friend. It was then that the magic and the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains so seduced her that she decided to put down roots in this area. She became sales manager for a high-end resort in Boone, and then became owner/broker in charge of Lenmark Properties in 1997. She now brings the same passion and commitment to client-service, for which she has long been known, to Blowing Rock Investment Properties where she will introduce clients to the same beauty that captivated her. |

Hello and welcome. I appreciate your taking the time to consider
Blowing Rock Investment Properties and me for your next Real Estate
transaction. I got my Real Estate license in Kentucky in 2005 and my
license in North Carolina in 2007. My Mother was a Realtor for over
20 years so it seems it runs in the family. I moved to North
Carolina from Kentucky in 2007 and I couldn’t be happier. What a
beautiful place to live and work. It is easy to sell something that
you love and I love Real Estate and the North Carolina mountains.
Therefore, I will work hard to help you achieve your goal of owning
Real Estate in NC, whether it is for personal use or investment
purposes.
Whether you are looking in Blowing Rock, Boone, Banner Elk, Valle
Crucis, Linville, Ski Mountain, Sugar or Beech Mountains, I would
love to help you with your search. I will give you my utmost
attention to detail to make the buying or selling process as easy,
yet, efficient as can be. I will work as hard for you as I would
myself. That’s my promise.
My husband Chris, and I, along with our 3 children, Taylor, 17,
Lauren, 10 and Kristen 8, plan on being in the Western NC mountains
for a very long time. We own the local Nissan store, University
Nissan, and love working and living in such a beautiful place.
Therefore, you can have confidence in my ability to be your agent
for as long as you do business in the area.
Please feel free to call me at any time at 828-773-5358 or email me
at jane@universitynissan.com.
I look forward to meeting you and getting to understand your needs.
My promise to you is that I will be with you from the beginning to
the end of any business transaction we venture into.
My goals are to:
- Live by the “get by giving” philosophy.
- Make my clients #1 goal, my #1 goal.
- Live up to my standards, despite temptations to lower them.
- Be willing to work toward a common good.
- Do what I say I will do, sometimes more, just never less.
Thanks.

Email: jacksonsc@charter.net
Shelly
is a Native Floridian and has lived in the High Country since 1993
(after attending ASU and graduating with a Bachelor of Music
Education degree.) Shelly taught for six years in the public schools
of NC. After teaching music she went into the travel agency business
until the internet made your typical travel agent obsolete at which
time Shelly taught preschool children for 3 years. When her own
children became of school age, she decided to look into a position
in which she could continue to work with people as she is very much
a people person. She found the REALTOR® position quite by accident
as she and her husband were looking for a home. Shelly liked the
“puzzle” part of the search and decided that she would like to be
the person that helps people find what they are looking for. You can
count on Shelly to be diligent in finding that perfect place for you
and your family. She makes it a point to attend as many open houses
as feasible to be familiar with the inventory and KNOW what is
available to our buyers in today’s market. When representing a
seller, you will not find a person more willing to do whatever it
takes to get your home sold for the most money in the shortest
amount of time. She works very hard for her seller clients and keeps
them informed every step of the way. Shelly is excited about the
possibility of helping you find your place “Close to heaven” here in
the High Country. |
